RACHAEL
All of my granddaughters have given me inspiration for layouts. This one is no exception. Rachael has always been a child that would only do
what she wanted to do. She is still that way, even today at almost 4.
I wanted to share this layout because it is so unique and I used unconventional items to express my ideas.
The 1st page with the large photo is matted on a large piece of antique lace. Kind of a shabby chic look. Mixing the old with the new. I did sew it on the paper, for stability and then added the photo mats. The mat corners are bent inward and held with a brad. Rachael is spelled out in chipboard lettering that is made to look old and used. I stamped on both the lettering and the lace. On the left hand side I journaled with little notes about Rachael.
On page 2 I also used the antique lace, just a smaller amount. The lace is seen angled at 2 corners. Again I stamped and journaled on it. The photos are doubled matted. The buttons compliment the richness of the paper and embellishments. They are different sizes and colors coordinated to go with the layout. The word 'Attitude" is stamped on the side. In the lower right hand corner I put her birth date and age.
Thank you for taking time to look. Take a moment to remember if you stored away things like old lace, buttons and etc. You may be able to use them for your scrapping. I bet you could. Give it a shot. Try something new today and happy scrappin'.
