The "LOVES" Of My Life

Whenever I think of love, want love or need love my grandchildren always come to mind. Now that we are living so close to them, it is truly a blessing that we enjoy every day. They range in ages from Ben 16, Andy 15, Caleb 12, Beka 7, Sarah 6, Jacob 5, Rachael 3 and Hannah 13 mo.

We have the whole spectrum of ages, likes and dislikes. They are so much fun, and bring to us a constant change of everyday life.

2008 is just around the corner and we are looking forward to a great year. Our son in law will be coming home from the Middle East and we thank the Lord everyday for his safety and the safety of the other military men, women and families. We have learned in the past year that it is not only the soldier who goes to war, but the whole family. The family battlefield here at home presents a different type of challenge and is just as important as the one deployed abroad. We pray for all the military families and ask for safety for them all.

Until next time,

Sandra

Hand-Painting on Acrylic

A most unique and very personal way to add depth and beauty to your acrylic album. Don't be afraid to just let it go and freehand your painting. You can also use stencils and/or patterns. Experiment and do what you feel. If you make a mistake, just use the alcohol to take it off and start over. Remember: "THERE ARE NO MISTAKES IN SCRAPBOOKING". This a very personal medium for your personal expression. Just like in quilting, charm and imperfectness add to the love and time you personally put into the project.

Here are a few quick and easy techniques.

A Brushing Effect - Pour the paint onto your flat palette surface , dip the brush into paint and using a long brush stroke onto the page in a desired pattern.

Stamping - Pour paint onto palette. Dip a cosmetic sponge, or paint onto stamp directly. Next, sponge onto a decorative stamp, covering the entire surface. Immediately stamp onto surface. Repeat as needed to create your desired effect and/or design.

As you try many different types of stamping, painting, doodling, sponging, and stenciling, don't be afraid to create you own technique. These very creative and personal effects will give your pe project a WOW effect. Very nice.

Thank you and have fun creating.

SWEET 16
WOW! Remember those days. I wish I had had a book to journal all of my memories from my 16th birthday. Well, that is just what this book is for. There is so much room for precious photos and journaling throughout the book. I just loved creating and designing this acrylic book. It measures 8x8 and is 12 pages total.
This book is one of the first I had done in acrylic. I was doing all kinds of hand doodling, rubons and anything that would add dimension. It came out wonderfully.
As far as techniques, machine stitching throughout, painting, hand doodling and stamping. Some of the flourishes I mixed with hand doodling, just for fun.
I loved creating this little book and I have just listed it on ebay for sale. The book and colors, pinks, lime and white are beautiful together and I used mostly Heidi Grace paper.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and leave me a comment now and then. It is nice to know who reads it.
Thanks,
Sandra

' TIS THE SEASON

Christmas trees, lights, decorations and the little gingerbread house. My little gingerbread house is so cute. The roof line is candy and lots of snow, and/or glitter. I had so much fun creating this little house. I received the base house from a good friend. She created the pattern, cut it out, sanded and sent it to me. I was so thrilled to get it. I hope that everyone who sees my house will enjoy it as I do. At least it is one house you don't have to clean!

Speaking of gingerbread, I have to get started on my cookie baking. I usually make my dough, label and freeze it. Then 3-4 days before Christmas I start baking and decorating all my cookies. It is tedious, but I look forward to it every year.

Everyone enjoy your holidays and have lots of family time. It is so precious and will create memories that stay with you forever.

Have a wonderful day,

Sandra

FAMILY
I really like this album. There are so many large mats for photos of the family and the special times together we all remember. The beautiful browns, beige's, golds and other shades of brown just add to the timeless beauty of this album. There are also
many doodles and flourishes by Heidi Grace Designs. The Heidi rub ons are the best. They always come off easy and never separate. I have used many different kinds, but these are the best.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and now you not only have precious memories, but lots of photos to scrap. If I can ever be of assistance just email me or leave a comment and I will gladly answer.
Have a wonderful day.

NEWEST CHRISTMAS ALBUM
JOY

Above is my newest creation for the Christmas holiday photographs. The album is a mixture of acrylic, front and back, and 2 paper bags inside.
The album really turned out beautiful and offers new colors for the holiday. I used Heidi Grace paper, Cherrywood Lane. It features the pinks and deep forest green. It was nice to get away from the normal red, white and green that we often see at Christmas time. The album will
be listed for sale on the special DBPP HHH sale I mentioned here before.

Have a great weekend.

BUSY WEEK
This has certainly been a busy week for me. I have been getting ready for the big hoopla for DBPP. I think I will have about 6 albums to put up for auction. Should be lots of fun. I have been crazy making acrylic albums, paper bag albums and a mix of the two. I also have a sweet jean purse I made with a small 3x4 tag album inside. Real cute.
I am thinking of starting a new little option of a holiday recipe that has been in my family for a number of years. We'll see.
Bye for now and leave me a comment now and then. It is nice to know you are out there and reading my blog.
Have a scrap-happy day!

COUNTRY CHRISTMAS

A beautiful 8x8 acrylic album. One of a kind. Have not seen anything else like it on ebay. I made the cover to represent a log cabin. Added a little Christmas cheer and built the rest of the album from there.

I think it came our really cute. I will be listing this book on the special holiday sale for DBPP, starts on November 22.

Please let me know you are out there and leave me a comment now and then. Thanks for looking and I will be bringing a special Thanksgiving blog entry next week.

Till then,

WEDDING ALBUM

This beautiful wedding album was done for my cousin's son. The colors are black, white and a deep pink. Just beautiful. I took a Bazzill 10x10 album and altered the cover. The bride and groom's photo will slide right under the transparency on the cover. Open up the album and each page carries their colors and plenty of room for all those precious wedding pictures. This is a much better way to show off the wedding photos than a regular coffee table book you can find anywhere. This idea will also work for a 12x12 size book.
Thanks,
Sandra

MY 2nd CUP OF TEA

MY 2nd CUP OF TEA
It has been requested that I show more photos of my tea album. Well, here they are. I put the pages against a black background. I hope you can see more detail that way. I found that the white background shows less specifics. If you have a problem, just email me and I will send you more photos.
I cannot say much more about this album. I don't think I will be able to sell it on ebay. I can't let go.
Have a great day, November 1st.
