FAMILY PHOTOS
How would you like to put your family photos in the above album. I made this album for Want 2 Scrap. The kit came with all of the paper, rubons and stickers. The ribbon was added. The flowers were cut out of the flowered paper and used on 4 separate pages. The large flower was cut from the same paper and I added stickles for an elegant look. I added stickles to most of the flowers. A wonderful touch.
I am so enjoying making albums for Want 2 Scrap. Take a look at their site,
want2scrap.com. You will like all of the laser cut albums and the edges are so smooth and cut precisely. Very nice product. I have made almost all of my personal acrylic albums and it is nice to use this product that is cut so nicely.
Thank you for looking today and remember to try something new. You can use any of my ideas that you want and if there is anyway I can help you, just let me know.
Happy scrappin'.

IN THE "DOGHOUSE"
The above book was cut by Want 2 Scrap. I simply decorated it to the theme and kit. The house was first stained and chalked then stained again to make the pages look like wood. All you do is overlap the stain. That will give it the lines it needs. The roof is outlined in pen and then I used Staz-On ink on the edges.
The book really came out cute and I just love the Woof Woof on the cover. Inside at the top of the page is the perfect place for the dogs name.
If you go to the Want2scrap.com site you can purchase the book and the kit. They are really cute and you will have lots of printed papers and die cut shapes and letters to make you book very personal.
Thank you for stopping by and have fun today. Try something new and happy scrappin'.

SWEET SIXTEEN
Acrylic Scrapbook
Do you remember when you turned 16? What a special day! I can remember mine. Mom took me shopping and we were gone for the whole day. I had a date that night and all was right with the world. My birthday is the day after Christmas, so you would think that I would be short changed. WRONG! My family always made a special effort to make my day my own. I would go shopping and hit all the after Christmas sales. I usually came home with twice the amount of what I normally would have gotten otherwise. To a teenager, that meant everything. By the time school started again, I had enough new clothes and outfits to last a week. You know that was cool!
I loved making the Sweet 16 book. Take time to look at each page. It is loaded with goodies and many places for journaling and photos. The fold up and page turning mats are very special and each allow for about 10 photos each. You can jam a lot in there. Just because it is an acrylic book doesn't mean you have to cut out multiple photo mats. Go for it!!
Have a great day and happy scrappin'.

FIRE HYDRANT
Made for Want 2 Scrap
About 2 weeks ago I mentioned on my site that I was going to design for a company called Want 2 Scrap. My first project is above. When the hydrant came to me it was the non color of chipboard. I then painted it bright red, lipstick red. Is there any other color you can paint a hydrant? I then went page by page and decorated it with the papers and embellishments from the kit that was sent. Everything I needed for this project was in the kit with the exception of the paint. I was amazed that I did not have to add anything else.
If you do choose to do a book like this for a firefighter you know, you can hang from the rings little mementos such as a key, badge or other item that is small.
This book is a wonderful way to pay respect and regards to the many local heroes we have in our midst and personally know. Try one, you will like it and the recipient will love it!

BEACH
* FUN IN THE SUN *
Now is the time of year for sand, surf and just playing around in the sand. I have made a beach book in the shape of a shell. I have a large beautiful half shell that I modeled it after and gave it some dimension by adding different papers every couple of inches. I then used stickles for the ribs and paper breaks. I think it gives it a wow factor and added beauty.
Inside the book paper bags were used as pages. They are sewn together and then decorated. I tried to capture the essence of a day at the beach on each page. I hope I did that.
Enjoy looking at the book and try something new today. Happy scrappin'.

THIS IS FOR: MELISSA FRANCIS

A call from Melissa Francis went out this last week to all scrapbook stores. Here is the overall view.

As you may or may not know, in 2007 Melissa Frances underwent treatment for stage 3 breast cancer. She is thankful that her health is good today. For those of you that do not know Melissa, she is the founder and creative genius behind the company under her name.
What they are doing for CHA Summer 2008 is the coolest idea I have heard in a long time, especially since it raises awareness for the fight against breast cancer!
The contest is as follows:
THE CHALLENGE: Create an altered/decorated bra
WHO: Anyone that wants to win and support the fight!
WHAT: Submit an altered bra!
WHEN: On or before August 1st!
You have until August 1st to enter. Ask about the challenge at your local scrapbook store and enter. My entry is at the top of the page. It was a lot of fun, and indeed, I am doing it for my daughters and granddaughters. We should all pray for the ladies and even some men that breast cancer affects. It is a mean disease, but we can beat it together.
Thank you for taking the time to read my blog today and remember to try something new today. Happy scrappin'.

PROM 2008

These are my last 2 layouts of Ben and his prom date Melissa. Ben and Melissa have been friends, girl next door, since they were both 7. They go to different high schools but share many common interests. It has been a pleasure and absolute fun to watch these two wonderful children grow into fine young adults. Their whole future is open and I know they are ready for it to happen.

COOL DUDES

A simple little layout of grandson on prom night. He and all the other guys lined up in front of the limo to have their picture taken. Quite a group. You can tell some of them really have a great sense of humor. Look at the outfits. From very traditional to absolutely flamboyant. Everyone had a great time and everyone was safe.

Ben is going into his senior year this coming year. WOW, where did those years go? I am sure it will be a great year for him. He is an honor 4.0 student and also plays sports. He is the center on the football team, plays basketball and soccer. A very busy guy, oh yeah, and has a sweet girlfriend. We are all so proud of him.

Thanks for listening to my ramblings today. Just had to get it out! Its a grandma thing. Try something new today and happy scrappin'.

ACRYLIC SCRAPBOOK - CHRISTMAS STOCKING
THE ABOVE CHRISTMAS STOCKING HAS BEEN COPYRIGHTED
BY SANDRA WILSON

It is finally done. This is the third acrylic Christmas scrapbook that I have made this year. Kind of Christmas in JULY! I made them early so if anyone should want to order them, I will have plenty of time to make and ship them.

The acrylic stocking comes bare with only the protective film on it. I then painted, inked and glittered mine. Actually this stocking was very fun and easy to decorate. Just remember you can see almost all of the layers so your layouts should reflect that. I will be posting this and the snowman on my "order acrylics now" page. You can access that by just clicking on it to the right of this posting.

I hope you enjoy my acrylics as much as I do. They are fun to make and design. Take your time to look at them. I have even more acrylic books in the early archives of this blog. Just click on them and they will come up.

Have a great day and if there is any way you need me to help you with a project, just ask. I will be glad to advise anyway I can.
Remember try something new today, and happy scrappin'.
